FAILURE TO HONOUR RAIN CHECK
I have been to your store on the 31st January 2009 to take advantage of the power toothbrushes that was advertised for $29-99. There were no items available (stocks may have run out) and an in store special was available in view of the said items not being available: That the” Oral B professional power toothbrush and the other catalogue items as advertised would be available at the price of $29-99.”
Naturally, I decided to take advantage of the in store special as it meant a greater saving to me and opted to purchase the more expensive brand that was being advertised at such a low price. The offer was verified and confirmed by the K-mart staff making the rain check. A rain check was issued so that I could receive six of the Oral B professional power toothbrushes at $29-99 each [as advertised as an in store special].
On the 15th April 2009 I was informed telephonically that they had arrived and I had to contact the store to take delivery of the stated items.
I went to the store to pick up the items. At the cashier desk I was told by the apparel manageress that the particular offer on the said toothbrushes no longer stands and that an alternative (much cheaper brand) would be made available to me. I pleaded my case to her and explained to her that this was an in store special over and above the catalogue specials that was advertised for that week but she was adamant that there was not much further that she could do.
I am making a formal complaint in relation to the principle of the matter and hope that this matter could be resolved soon.
Waiting for a favourable reply,
Yours faithfully
