I went out of town and opened my chase credit card bill after the due date, so I called to ask if I could get the late fee waived since I have an excellent payment history with them. I have had credit card companies make this exception in the past for me. Chase flat out denied me without any explanation. I asked to speak to a manager and got the same flat and immediate denial. When I asked why he could not help me, he was rude and would not explain. He said to call back in 2-3 months if I get "back on track" and then I could ask for a reimbursement of the late fee. I asked why my excellent payment history for the last year hadn't bought me any good will, and he had no answer. I then threatened to cancel my card, and he offered to do it right then! I thought these companies were supposed to care about customer service. Chase obviously doesn't. Someone explain to chase that we're in a financial crisis and they may want to try and keep customers happy.
