Eating lunch in the city is expensive and on most days I bring leftovers to work. However at least once a week I like to treat myself and in doing so, I usually go for a healthy tasty sandwich. Now buying lunch in the city can cost up to $10-$15 with a drink which is in my eyes too much! I have counted now 4 times I have purchased the exact same sandwich from this cafe and of those 4 times, 2 different people have served me. Initially I paid $7 so the next week I asked for the same thing and it was now $7.70. I argued with the sandwich hand and then she reluctantly let me pay $7 for it. On the next occasion, I specifically went back to the same woman whom I'd bought my sandwich from initially and it was $7. Now......today I again ordered the same sandwich and after preparing it she took quite a while adding up all the items on my sandwich (tomato, cucumber, cheese etc) when finally I said to her "It's $7, that's what I usually pay." She looked at me and said, "No, its $8.70". I couldn't believe it! I said how can it be so much more when I always get the same sandwich with the same ingredients. I told her that on previous occasions it had been $7 and pointed out the other woman who had sold it to me for that price. She looked at me and said "No, it's $8.20". I told them it was ridiculous that they could charge different amounts like that and that it appears to me that not all the employees there know who much to charge per ingredient; which is why there is a different amount everytime. I told them I was not satisfied and would not be returning to buy my lunch in the future. They stuck by the word and I ended up paying $8.20. I'm very unhappy with the service they provided and can say that this is not the first time I have been charged a different price for the same food product. They need to ensure all staff are aware of all prices in future and can do simple math!
