years ago I bought a new rotel surround pre amp rsp 976 on special from $2100 to $700 after watching a movie If I put on a music video dvd the sound would take ages to start or just get noise only on digital inputs I took it back to doncaster for repair 2 weeks later picked it up they said no fault.after 1or 2 years I was sick of it. Took it back to richmond (doncaster closed) I said when its been on for 2 hours, (a movie) it takes ages for sound to start or get loud noise . go foward a chapter.same thing unplug infa red lead put back is ok.or turn amp on off. Told them it must be digital control board. two weeks later I rang them ,they said faulty digital control board cant get parts.great.I was going to buy a dvd player from them.not now ,I like rotel but would not go near encel again. took amp home took off lid turned on just power let run for 20 mins . Ic with dts and dolby digital on it was too hot. Cut to fit old computor cpu heatsink put on Ic with heat transferring paste and cable tie around capacitor. Its 95% better. how usless are encel.
