I went into the Capalaba store on Saturday afternoon, I got my 6pack and waited in line with my 16year old cousin. When I got to be served the young guy behind the counter refused to sell the 6pk to me because my 'underage cousin' was with me....I told him that it was for me (I am 29) but he still refused, by this time everyone was looking at us which made me feel like a criminal so I just walked out. I will normally go to this store about once a week and I've had my cousin with me twice before without anything said to me (however my wife was with me then) It now feels like they have discriminated against me because I am a male....after I walked out we drove to a drive through down the road and I purchased a 6pk with no fuss at all. When my wife called to complain to the manager (who was not there) the lady employee kept repeating to her "its the law, its the law", nothing would be done about the rude young guy, so my wife then called their headoffice to make a formal complaint which they said they will speak to the guy for being rude, however I must have done something to suggest I was buying the 6pk for my underage cousin, yet all we did was quickly walk in to the store I got the 6pk from the fridge and then got in line and waited to be served...It had to be because I am a male, I am buying liquor for someone underage...it makes me think if that was my wife and my cousin would she have been served or refused??????
