the current government hype about workers not being disadvantaged for signing an awa is just that-all hype.
A few months ago,I quit a commercial cleaning company,in disgust at the low wages and bad conditions-for example, for an extra FIFTY CENTS AN HOUR two weeks annual leave is forfeited,on top of NO SICK LEAVE.This job was NOT casual-it was full time permanent, and the conditions I mentioned above, are NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LEGAL.
But guess what? On informing the relevant government department,I was informed that,as I did not work for this particular company any more, nothing could be done,as a complaint had to be made from a current employee!
This, more than anything, demonstrates the TOTAL DISHONESTY AND LACK OF CONCERN FOR THE "average " worker that the current government displays.Their recent ad campaign advertised on t.v.,where they emphasised all awa`s are examined and rejected if not up to standard,is a total lie.Isn`t false advertising a criminal offence? Oops,I forgot, the government makes the laws, and they can just about do what they want,as the population of australia seems entirely indifferent to the injustices being inflicted upon them.truly,we get the government we deserve.
