Bridgestone (Queensland, Australia)

2007-11-16

I am amazed in this day and age that a person can be physically harmed in a Bridgestone retail outlet. October 31-2007 my partner experienced such treatment .

After what was the sixth time the car had been taken back for faulty brake repair to be rectified, my partner was then set upon by Bridgestone representatives.

My partner was simply documenting the process with his video camera so that we could take it up with Head Office, as after 6 times we had run out of consumer patience.

As it seemed we were at a dead end and unsatisfactory outcome and after four months later, was simply not acceptable.

This is a deplorable act of thuggery and violence, which will not be tolerated. It was an unprovoked physical attack, which has resulted in personal injury, loss of income and destroyed personal property.

To add further insult, my car has still not been fixed and now face spending more time and money to get it fixed. The fact that you can go to what you think is a reputable Company and be physically harmed resulting in this situation, simply astounds me.

There are certainly many ways of handling a situation and this is definitely not the way. I thought Bridgestone would not condone their Franchisees to act in this manner under ANY circumstances.

The Corporate duty of care under the Bridgestone umbrella as a Corporation surely must stand for something in a situation as hideous as this. As a consumer I do not expect to be physically harmed in a Bridgestone establishment under ANY circumstances.

I do not condone violence and do not believe there is any event that cannot be sorted out in an orderly fashioned manner.

My partner and I are, good corporate citizens who hold down good jobs and who also believed in the Quality and Integrity of dealing under a reputable Bridgestone Brand outlet.

In this day and age of Corporate Identity, Customer Service, Customer Satisfaction and Corporate standards, this Bridgestone outlet fails us as consumers on all levels of the matter.

I hope you can fully understand the trauma, pain and suffering my partner and I have had to endure over such a straight forward repair job, which could have been avoided five trips earlier. I am disappointed that Bridgestone have offered no mediation and no alternative outcome as everyone simply awaits an outcome to a police investigation.

I thought we would be protected as consumers through a mulltinational brand as big as Bridgestone but it seems I am severely mistaken.....
