Canon (New South Wales, Australia)

2009-06-04

I have bought 4 Canon cameras in the past 3 years and 3 of them have had faults that have caused them to die on me (and my daughters). Two had problems with the shutter half opening and the flash globe recently died on my latest one bought just over 12 months ago as a replacement for one of the others.

It is just out of warranty but given my litany of faults and my loyalty to the brand I got in touch with them explaining my ongoing problems. They asked me to send it to their service centre with an explanatory letter. The service centre has got back to me with a quote saying they will check to see what is wrong for $50 and then to fix the problem will cost up to $152.90.

I would have thought a new flash globe and a cheery apology would have been more appropriate.
