Capriccio Italiano Restaurant Complaint. I visited your restaurant on Sunday night, 23/10/2005 because it looked appealing and my friends and I wanted a good Italian style pizza for our supper. I have dined at this restaurant 3 times so far because it looked appealing and is close to where I have been at the time. I don't think I shall be visiting it ever again. The food is of standard Italian fare, the ambience is comfortable and the table settings presentable. Regretfully, every time I have been to your restaurant, I have been served by an incredibly surly, rude and unsmiling waiter (whom I suspect is a member of the family). He is presentably groomed, but does not acknowledge his customers. He snarls and refuses to greet customers or make them feel welcome. Obviously, smiling and words like "please", "thank you" and "sorry" do not exist in his vocabulary. He is unfortunately extremely damaging to this restaurant business in on the Northbridge restaurant strip and most unfair to any paying customer who should be unlucky to be 'served' by him. To give you examples of his standard of outrageously poor customer service; he blatantly ignored my party when we arrived and eventually asked us what we wanted without a hint of a warm greeting or acknowledgement of our presence - we immediately knew then that we had made a mistake in coming to this restaurant that night. He later cleared the table without asking and before every diner had completed their meal, regardless of whether he had interrupted our conversation or whether we had in fact finished our meal and given him permission to remove our plates. He then did it again with our drinks! I have never been so appalled at such bad service; not once, but 3 times from this same man! I work in hospitality and am widely travelled, even to Italy; but he takes the award for being the rudest, surliest and most unfriendly waiter I have ever been served by! I am sure there are many other professional waitstaff who would be only too pleased to present a better image and standard of service than he possibly could. I am afraid this gentleman's poor customer service to me and my guests has reflected poorly on your restaurant's reputation in Northbridge, as I also write restaurant reviews in Perth.
