Claire’s Care Care – Carindale
1 Cuthred Street
Carindale QLD 4152

In good faith, I purchased a promotional voucher from Claire's Car Care at Carindale.
I was told by the sales person who came to my work to sell the cards that my colleague and I could go halves in the purchase and to make a photocopy of the promo card to take to Claire's Car Care when I book the service, as this has the promotional number on it.

I booked in my car today, 24th August, making the necessary arrangements (my father meeting me there in morning to drive me to work and my partner is going to pick me up this afternoon when he finishes work to take me to collect my car). When I produced the promo card photocopy to the man who I later found out is the owner, he said that it was no acceptable and that he needed the original.

I explained that I was told by the sales person that the photocopy was sufficient (which made sense - companies who sell vouches like these would keep a log on site with what had been redeemed). He spoke over me, down to me, and said that I should know that if I purchase a voucher then I would need to bring in the original. I kept explaining that I had done what I was advised by the sales person that he had employed. My colleague had booked her car in the previous week, using the original card. At this stage I didn’t know if she had kept it, as there would be no reason for her to. Either way, I didn’t have it on me, and I was asking him to be professional and understand the position that I was in and to help me.

I left my keys and asked him to call me once he’d sorted it out – I was getting upset and needed to get away and I didn’t want to cry in front of him, plus I needed to get to work.

Once I got to work, I spoke to my colleague about it to make sure I remembered the situation correctly which she said was definitely the case. We were told the photocopy was all that I would need.

I received a phone call from the owner and I thought he’d be calling to say that the photocopy would be accepted, and maybe even apologise. I was wrong. He was calling with the phone number of the sales person for me. Why would he do this? This is his employee and his problem to sort out for the customer who made the purchase in good faith.

I admit I became extremely emotional and angry on the phone, however he brought no resolve to the situation.

I am so upset, I feel ripped off and I don’t think that I’ve ever been spoken to so appallingly or spoken down to like I have today by someone in the customer service industry. I would recommend that no one give their custom to this horrible person, who has no idea of how to run a business in a professional manner, let alone treat his customers with respect.
