Hi my name is Deanne Kyle and I had my engagement party at Cloudland on Friday 11th September 2009 at 8pm.
Firstly I booked this dinner on the 30/7/09. I called on the 7/11/09 to confirm. When I called a lady named Belinda advised that you didn't have my booking and that you were fully booked out and would have to call me back. After 2 hours and no phone call I called back and got Belinda again. She stated again that you didn't have my booking and that she was sorry but there was nothing she could do as you's were booked out. She then asked for the spelling of my name and realised it was under Dianne Kylie instead of Deanne Kyle. She also advised of the dress code.
When I arrived on Friday night at 7:30 pm people were getting let in with jeans on so I don't see why she made such a big deal out of the dress code. Also when the door man asked for my name, my name on the list was still under Dianne Kyle (so at least they changed my surname). We were advise to all be there was 7:45pm to be seated at 8pm. I went to the restaurant area were I was told that our table wasn't ready yet. We weren't seated until 8:20 pm. The waiter then came around to take drink orders after we all ready advised we didn't want drink order to be taken from the table as it was too hard to spilt the bill at the end.
We all had our orders taken around 8:45 pm. We were still waiting at 10:30 pm for our meals. My fiance Darian Smith asked the wait staff what was going on and what was happening with our meals. The wait staff advised that the kitchen had ran out of potatoes and because some people had ordered entires this is the reason our meals were late, but no one had received their entires anyway. Darian then advised to cancel all of the meals. They advised that we couldn't cancel them all us the first tables was coming out now. So half the party was eating there meal at 10:45 pm and the other half didn't get to eat at all.
I want to know how this all went wrong and that no one could give us a reasonable answer on Friday night. I am very disgusted and angry as it was my engagement party which only happens once and now it's over and it was a total disaster and a disappointment.
I would like a response within the next 24hrs otherwise I will be coming in too speak with management face to face.
