I bought a dome oil heater, it ruptured this morning my whole house is full of toxic fumes and now have to find somewhere else to stay as I have 3 kids 8, 5 and 4 weeks old! You can smell the fumes from the driveway! My kids are lucky to be alive and I'm considering taking legal action
I had a similar thing happen yesterday at Coles Westfield Tuggerah store. I had done my weekly shop at Aldi and then went into Coles to get further food for a family bbq. I had purchased about $80 worth of food and 1 of my 4 Aldi green bags was unused. At the checkout I kindly asked the operator if he could use my 1 green bag first and then any plastic bags. He agreed, I put it on the counter but he completely ignored it. The operator was either on auto-pilot or an arrogant dead brained moron. This attitude does nothing to change peoples perception of Coles and Woolies monopolizing behaviour. I just spent $80 at their store and then offered to save them and the environment some plastic bags. Fucking idiots.
I would like to complain about the ads I see appearing on tv about how fresh Coles produce is...and how their prices are down, down, down....And how Woolworths have had ads that state what we should look for when buy that fresh fruit or veg.
What a load of bull the last time I saw propaganda this bad was the children overboard affair......
I shop between Coles Inglewood and Woolworths Dog Swamp and I have to ask....in order for them to run a fruit and veg division shouldn't the fruit and veg be fresh some of the time?
I cannot remember the last time I saw a white or red onion in fresh condition...that means with it's outer skin on plump and firm...then I went to buy garlic and ginger at Coles and they were as shrivelled up as, well you know what! The 4 advocado's I bought were brown inside and not just a little brown...I had to cut of two thirds to get any to eat. and they cost $2.50each.
I could tell you about peaches and nectarines that are so hard they go off before they get ripe....seriosly I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing that people are feeding this poison to their kids.....celery should be crisp and firm...thanks for the infor there Woolworths ads...now can you tell us where to by said crisp firm celery....it would be funny if they were taken to the human right abuse court for profiting from what my grandfather wouldn't have given to his pigs ....
Humans need nutrition and they get it from fresh produce....just a note for your next ads Coles and Woolies because all Mums and those that want a healthy family body and mind would do well t to shop elsewhere...And tell me how a company that can bulk buy can charge more for their produce than a farmer having to traven two hours to Perth, hire a stall and still managers to cut your price on apples by $1 a kilo and you know what they are fresh crisp sweet .
Dear all,
On the 3rd of March I bought a carton of Choice Cigeretts from Coles Mundering Perth and I was told that they were worth $121.50 for a carton of 25s as they had gone up. I kept the invoice as I did not belive that it was the right price as they had over charged last time there was a price rise by about $10.00.
On the 8th of March I bought 2 cartons of the same smokes from the Smoke mart in Midland Perth and they were $103.20 for the same thing.
I went to Coles Mundering today to ask them to investergate the price as I felt that it may be wrong, I stayed calm as I understood that it is not their fault but I was told there was nothing that they could do and if I did not like it then I could shop else where.
I tryed again to say that I would like it looked into as it could not be right as there was such a big difference and again I was told that there was nothing that they could do and the woman that spoke to me was very dismisive.
I was not smoking around her or asking her to smoke and I expect to be spoken to with respect and I feel that it is wrong to rip of any one even a smoker like me.
I shop at Coles West End Brisbane. For the last few months two carpets have been placed outside the main entry/exit door. This means that when a trolley is wheeled outside the doors as soon as the trolley wheels make contact with the carpet, which is unavoidable, locks inside the wheels drop down bringing the trolley to a shuddering holt. This is a shock to my physical body. But what really bothers me is I am denied access to the trolley ramp which decends onto the street. In other words just to make things easier for the people responsible for collecting the trolleys I am forced to carry my groceries down the ramp. I could use the steps, it would be quicker but I my balance is a problem. I spoke to staff in coles, I was told the problem was nothing to do with them, and to find the phone number myself of whoever owns the shopping centre. (I was told the name, but I forget what it was). You know, I can get my food delivered from Woolworths at Buranda, And unless those carpets are removed I will.
I went to buy frosty in coles express in barkly street around 7:00pm today. I was
very disappointed to be serve by a very rude and arrogant indian man.
Infact aggressive is the right word for such behaviour. Its more than an hour now but I am still shocked by what happened today. Perhaps if you could train them in customer services and teach them some etiquette esp Indians that will be fantastic.
I am a 60 year old woman and my son is 19. Yesterday we were shopping at Coles Ashfield where I have shopped for 26 years. My son tried to buy cigarettes but was refused because he had no ID on him. I went to buy cigarettes and was also refused because the very rude, unpleasant shop assistant, 'Tania', said I was going to give them to my son. I argued with her that I wanted to buy cigarettes and she continued, along with the store manager, 'Brett, to refuse me the sale and to be rude and exremely officious. I will never shop at Coles Ashfield again because of how I was treated. It was a totally humiliating and belittling experience. They abuse the tiny bit of power they have.

Last week I went to Aldi for the first time in about 2 years. I've been to Aldi stores less than half a dozen times since they arrived on the Gold Coast. I usually shop at Coles and occasionally at Woolies.
As I live only 2 miles from Miami One, the Coles there is the supermarket I prefer to shop at and I visit several times a week, having done so since it opened. I have always had very good service there, and have sent a couple of emails to the "corporation" mentioning exceptional service when I've received it.
I'm not familiar with the Aldi "routine" so while there I had to buy 4 plastic shopping bags to take my groceries home. Yesterday I took the 4 Aldi shopping bags to Coles with me. I thought it would be useful to "recycle" them, and the green bags I keep in my car are getting a bit tacky with beach sand and dog hairs on them. I had no idea that the Aldi bags would cause a problem in Coles.
I had $160 worth of groceries and went to the checkout, with Cheryl an older lady serving as checkout "girl". Cheryl grabbed my Aldi bags and shoved them down to the end of the checkout and said, "I won't be using THOSE bags. If you want to use them, you'll need to put your own groceries in them." I wasn't sure I'd heard correctly, so I said, "Sorry?" and Cheryl said again, "I won't use those bags, you can put your own groceries in them if you want to."
It was quite busy at the time, and there was a queue behind me, I don't like confrontation either, so I just quietly said, "Is this company policy?" and Cheryl said, "It's at our personal discretion." She didn't look me in the eye, and had an expression of distaste, making me feel as though I was being punished for doing something disgusting.
I watched while Cheryl used the Coles regulation issue grey plastic bags, and slunk home feeling like a leper. By the time I got home though, I decided to give Coles Miami a phone call, and I was put through to "Malcolm" who was the manager. I told him what had happened, and he denied that use of other stores' bags was at "personal discretion" and that he would be having a word with Cheryl. Our phone call was brief, and I didn't feel as though Malcolm had heard me out.
I am still feeling very unhappy with the treatment I received from Cheryl, humiliated in front of a queue of other customers, and I am annoyed that she felt the need to lie to me about the "personal discretion".
I am a homewares distributor, with a "territory" of 2,500 homes from Miami to Burleigh, and I have lived in Miami for 12 years. I know EVERYONE and have a very large number of friends and acquaintances, many of whom will be told the story of the cranky checkout woman in Coles who refused to use my Aldi bags and treated me coldly and disdainfully.
I have just had another bad experience with the Manager and staff at Coles in Bluff Rd, Hampton. I saw a couple of bunches of flowers that had been marked down offered for sale in the flower section out of the front of the store. I put them in my basket and continued shopping. When I arrived at the checkout the girl said she couldnt sell them to me as they were past the useby date. I queried this and the Manager of the Store ( Acting Dry Goods manager Ahkmed) came over and said he was sorry he couldnt sell them to me. What was I going to do, eat them and get sick! they were still in good nick. I argued the point and said that I had bought them fairly and expected the sale as they had been offered for sale which constitutes a contract. They rudely took them off me and I was called an idiot, me?? Dont get that. What is going on here?? No offers of something else, just take them off me and abuse me. And deliberately embarrassed me in front of other customers. Last time I will shop there. This is the second time I have had problems with that store.

The insulting, heinous and rude behaviour of the staff at Glenroy Coles (Victoria) , towards a customer. This is may be because I am from overseas. Her name is (Trish) and I came to know that she is the manger there. God!!!!!! how can such a place runs like people with this kind of attitude and rudeness?
I have seen coffee mugs on special for $1 and I bought 4 of those. When I went to pay, the counter staff informed me that its showing as $2 in their system. Then she asked Trish to check it and she said she thinks its $2. Then she went and checked and told me that its $1 each and I have to pay $1 each for 3 mugs and will get the 4th one for free. by this time the counter staff have included these mugs in my bill with other shopping. By this Trish screamed from behind that no..thats $ 2 each. By this time I was about to pay and I mentioned to the counter staff ( she was very polite and was trying to help me) that this is not a good customer service. Because the way Trish spoke to me infront of all the other customers was just insulting and rude. ...Whom do I complaint about this?
Coles Port Lincoln will not stock flour from the Cummin flour mill 80k up the road so why should i be surprised when they axe the australian company RUBBEDIN that makes the fabulous Metal Magic cleaning products that i have been using for years. Your loss Coles i'll buy on line and continue to support Australia.
Well let's see, where to start with Coles. I got injured while working, got treated like crap after that. They don't care that I still can't work & I have to fight them each week for my Workcover payments. Make a complaint about the way you are treated while working there & you get treated so bad that that's how I got hurt. If you were not a favourite worker you were sent to work on the main big registers for your whole shift, for me that was 5 straight hours of lifting heavy bags & not being rotated as you should be. Try that 3 days in a row for 12 months & then see how bad your back becomes. I now will never be able to work again & yet they think I am cured & can go back to work. You think they treat the customers bad? Try being a worker there, you mean nothing to them & then you wonder why you get shitty service? Hard to be nice to customers when your being picked on, bullied, harassed & put down all the time.... and that's just by your line manager.... try getting an irate customer because you were not nice to them or didnt smile.
i AM not here to complain but to tell you all something , coles as employers, they treat staff like shit, the only staff theu do treat like humans are the managers. Ever since Westfarmers took over they decided to get rid off staff and cut some hours so they could bring in more profits after they have spent billions on buying coles. There idea is to cut down the staff and make us staff work harder on the same pay check. Due to this staff have become displeased with there employment and have resigned. Now i have been working for coles for 3 years now. AND like you have mentiioned staff service has gone down hill. This is because there is not enough staff to fit the ratio of costumers. There we are becoming very unhappy with the way we are being treated. Casual staff are also not looking forward to work so much they are pullin sickies all the while. Leaving myself and others running around doing other jobs which is leaving us pissed off and upset.. If coles would cut down on there profits and spend there profits on staff we would be fine. As my boss told me, by westfarmers you have to work harder amd faster.. well how about you do a richard branson.... treat your staff well. and your staff will treat your costumers well.
I was shopping at the Sady coles and while i was at the checkouts a staff named Dani did not greet the customer. She didn't even bother putting the shopping in the bag, So i asked her for a bag and in return she looked at me and pulled a face. i wandered if it was wrong of me to ask for a bag?while i left she continued staring. Out of all the coles shops i have been to, i have to say sandy coles the worst coles and has poor customer service. I rather shop soewhere else than to come here and find unfriendly staff. >< Do you really want that type of person to be at the checkouts?
I was at the Bay Street Coles in Port Melbourne and could not find shoe polish. I approached a sales assistance and before I even opened my mouth she berates me with "don't ask me I'm not in groceries". I enquired about shoe polish (I was guessing it wasn't groceries) and she just wavered her hand and said "down there somewhere". Thanks for the NO custumer service.
I am constantly astounded at the lack of service at Coles Seville Grove, every weekday there are many checkouts closed with queues throughout the store, the Store manager loiters around the service desk looking rather spaced out and is barely comprehensible when he does speak!
To whom it may concern, My name is Kayleen *Xxxxxx. I am Graeme *Xxxxx's wife; I wish to tell you how the acting manager Trent *Xxxxx had been watching us walking around the store and has been for a few weeks. One night Graeme and I went to Coles also present with us was our 7 year old son (Xxxxx), Trent Xxxxx had been watching us, we were not always in his line of sight we both knew that he was watching us he made it very obvious. When we were finished shopping we went to the register to pay for our stuff and we saw the police there. Once we had paid for our item's the police said to Graeme would you like to come outside and he replied yes, One police Officer asked Graeme if he could see what Graeme had in his shorts? Graeme replied no not unless you have a warrant. Police then said Trent Xxxxx said he observed you putting something down your pants and Graeme replied no I didn't. Graeme then turned his attention to (Trent) and said if you must know I put my hand in my short's to adjust myself, I have a hernia two in fact at this time Graeme was aggitated and becoming aggressive towards Trent due to his allegation that Graeme had stolen something. This was all taking place at the North End entrance of Cole's; Also present was a police woman who also wanted to see. Just to prove to the Police and to Trent, Graeme obliged the Police and Trent by lifting his T'Shirt, there was nothing there the police did not take any further action as Graeme complied with their request, nothing was found. Graeme Called the Aboriginal Legal service for advice and he was too upset to talk to them and Graeme passed me the mobile phone and I told them ( Aboriginal Legal Service) they are assuming Graeme had stolen from Coles and they wanted to search him and the advice was they could not search him out side with out a warrant. Against Legal Advice Graeme still obliged the police as you can read above. This was humiliating and embarrassing for us our son as we have shopped at Coles for many years and never have we been put through what we were put through that Night. I myself made enquiries to speak to Trent or the Manager (Cody Xxxxxx) Mr.Xxxxxx who I contacted by phone treated the incident as a joke and laughed at my request for the letter of apologie regarding what had transpired. I found this to be offensive so I went to Cole's and I had asked a young man in the car park who worked at Cole's are you Cody Xxxxxx the Manager and he not known to me at this stage was in fact the Manager said hold on I will go and get him, I then walked into Coles to the Smoke counter and I had observed this young man (Cody) on the phone then a few minutes later I then noticed the Police parked in the parking lot, I then came out of Cole's and I noticed the police heading towards Graeme who was sitting in our car with his seatbelt still on and listening to music on his Mobile via a headset, from behind Cody Xxxxxx was standing near me and I asked him in front of the police, So You lied to me you are Cody Xxxxxxx? he did not reply. The police then spoke to me and asked me what I was doing, I said I was looking for Cody so that I could get and apologie from the store for the humiliation and embarrassment they had put us through. Our six year old son (a twin) had been sick and Graeme had pulled the car into the carpark so he could vomit in which he did, we did not know at the time that where we had parked was beside the Manager's car (Cody Xxxxxx) as we later found out when the police informed me. As this is what Cody had told the Police, we then observed and elderly male and female they both entered the car and drove out of Coles. I stated to Cody and the police this was harrassement and racist and told them to get a life. Graeme then got out of the car as our son was sitting near the front right hand wheel of the car to remove him, at this time whilst poilce were present I noticed Cody giving Graeme a smart smirk. Graeme spotted what Cody had done and still being u
I am a regular customer of Coles Essendon for over 18 months.
Over the 18 months I noticed they changed the store over to Coles from the previous Bi-Lo store.
There is consistantly not enough stock of products and limited range. The products are also grossly overpriced. To add to that there is a constant high staff turnover who are always rude and ignore their customers. I recently went to the service desk and was waiting a good ten minutes or so. The girl on the other side refused to acknowledge my presence. When another obnoxious lady approached she served her almost immediately.
I rather drive down the road to Safeway Niddrie as their staff are always friendly and their prices are decent.
