A year ago now, I purchased a few parts for a PC I was building from CPL. I asked them if the motherboard I was getting could run two graphics cards together, they said yes, so I also purchased 2 8800GTS's at around $550 each.

Took them home, set them up, they worked fine.. by themselves.. but they did not work together as the motherboard was not capable.

I took the computer back the next day and asked very nicely if I could swap the two 8800GTS's for 1 GTX (a more powerful graphics card priced at $750) and simply get the difference refunded.

They took a "repacking fee" of 10%, and would only give me the rest of the refund as store credit. The thing is, it was their fault for selling me something that did not do as I asked. They had absolutely no right by law to do this and yet they were willing to go to court over it. Through government assistance I got the store credit refunded as cash, but I let them keep their repacking fee as it was definitely a waste of my time to chase it up in a day of court.

Since then, I now have a job selling gaming consoles and PC parts, and I know damn well that I was entitled to a full refund within 48 hours even if it was my fault.

Still, I will never be going back to CPL.
