I had read about Country Homes Furniture on this website, but being a fair-minded person I decided to give the shop a fair go. I was looking for a bookshelf. When I walked in the store there were two sales assistants. One of the sales assistants was helping a customer, the other was eating her sandwich. I looked at the sales assistant eating the sandwich expecting that she would come over to help me. She just looked at me.
I continued to look at the bookshelves and take notes. It was very clear that I was an interested, prospective customer. I looked at the sales assistant again in the hope that she would come and help me. She looked straight back at me and continued to munch on her sandwich. At that point I gave up. It was clear to me that this particular store had absolutely no interest in providing any customer service to potential clients. Needless to say, I did not purchase my bookshelf from this store.
A Postscipt to this story is that interestingly enough when I went to the Country Homes Furniture Store in Wangara, the sales assistant was very attentive and informative. I'm therefore lead to believe that it is only the Osborne Park store that has a lack of customer service.
The table and chairs we ordered were purchased on 2/1/07 we still have not received the goods. We told it would take 8-10 weeks it has now been 15 weeks. The delay has been blamed on chinese new year we are now trying to get our $500 deposit back and they are refusing. The next step, The Department of Fair Trading to get our money back. Do not shop at Country Homes Furniture on Hutton St. in Osborne Park.
