I recently purchased an external hard drive from Catch of the day.com.au a website run by Daily deals, i received an upgraded hard drive in the mail on the same day an email arrived from Nige the customer service supervisor to advise of the mistake.
He informed me i had to options - have the extra $180 charged to my credit card immediately or send the hard drive back and wait an extra week for the correct one.
I offered to come to the store and swap over however 6 hours later i received a reply and as i work full time and had 1 morning off - this option was no longer available.
As i required the hard drive the following day i suggested a courier could come and swap the two so i still had a hard drive.
I then received a reply to state that my actions were classed as stealing, unforging and unethical.
I was extremely surprised to see this resonse from a manager of customer service.
Working in customer service myself, if we offer the incorrect price or send the wrong product we bear the cost ourselves and honour the mistake for the client when i suggested this and requested my email be forwarded to Nige's manager due to his lack of customer service i was then bombarded with a further email of rudeness from Nige stating that "unfortunately for you Nige is the manager". You seemed like the kind of person who is just out for a fight, the type of person who uses any opportunity to try score some free stuff (we've got PLENTY of those that shop with us!)
This is a perfect example of no customer service.
I did not expect this type of service from a manager when i have done nothing wrong.
Be wary of this company they are only out for your money!!!
