The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I pre-booked a taxi to take my wife and home from a wedding reception at 12.10 am. Eastwood Mearns even texted me on my mobile phone to confirm the booking. It all looked very efficient. Until the appointed time came and went with no sign of the taxi that is.
I called to ask where the taxi was - I was told by Eastwood Mearns they were "trying" to get me a cab but had no idea when it might arrive. Fortunately, rather than wait, we walked half a mile and were lucky enough to get a back cab for hire from the street - I can tell you that my wife was less than happy about having to walk so far in her glad rags.
When I got home I called Eastwood Mearns with the silly idea I might get an explanation and an apology. Not a bit of it - what I got was a rude and ignorant buffoon who told me my complaint was "rubbish." He also thought I was still waiting for the cab and said he was still trying to get one but he couldn't say when - this was over an hour after the cab was supposed to have tunred up and if we had waited we would still have been stranded in town.
I pointed out that it was his company that had confirmed the booking in writing and asked if they could not fulfil it why had they taken the booking at all. The controller's response was that he himself had told me when the booking was taken that the time could not be guaranteed. This was remarkable on two counts: 1) I had never entered into any such conversation with this man or anybody else from Eastwood Mearns Taxis and 2) The person who took my booking was female and the controller seemed to be suggesting that if he was this person, he had just undergone a sucessful sex-change operation that evening. If so, it was the only success Eastwood Mearns Taxis had that night.
I will never use this company again and would urge you to think twice before you call Eastwood Mearns Taxis.
