Booking # 2S24SZ. Qantas changed my husbands booking plans on 1st August 08. He was due to fly out 15/8/08, less than 21 days so no paper ticket could be posted. I went into the Adelaide Qantas office (North Terrace, Adelaide) to confirm & get documentation for changes. I was not happy about the inconvenience. Was told by staff member this is a common occurrence & I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY ATTITUDE!!! This ios what this inconvenience did to my husbands plans:

Ben – I can’t do this as I booked an advance discount flight that cannot be changed or cancelled without substantial penalty – a fact no doubt that Qantas could not care less about in terms of causing maximum inconvenience by changing the original flights without any notice. I have no choice but to arrive late on the Friday.

Subject: URGENT - tentative change to Kokoda trip

Dear Stephen,

As I'm sure you are aware, the International flight between Brisbane and Port Moresby has been rescheduled, now arriving in Port Moresby at 1855. Although we can still run the trip with a 1855 arrival, it does start the trip in a bit of a rush. The solution I have tentatively arranged is to switch our flights so we arrive in Port Moresby at 1100 on the Friday. To do this we would need to leave Adelaide at 1915 on the 14th and overnight in Brisbane. We would then catch the 0800 flight from Brisbane and arrive in Port Moresby at 1100 giving us much more time to relax and enjoy the first day.

It will involve overnighting in Brisbane, I have a booking for rooms at an airport hotel. The cost is $80 per person for the twin share room and there will probably be an extra meal or two as well.

Please let me know if this is suitable for you ASAP as I need to get back to Qantas, John Abbott Travel and the hotel by Thursday afternoon to make it all happen.

So, please advise
1 - If you can leave Adelaide on the 1915 flight on the 14th August
2 - How you booked your flight.
If it was through John Abbott, I will organise the change with John.
if it was through the internet, I can organise the change (I will need your booking reference)
If it was with another travel agent, please have them contact me for details on what changes need to happen.
