Red Rooster, Campbellfield ( Victoria, Australia)

2009-01-27

I am just writing to complain about the experience I had at the Red Rooster store in Campbellfield. It was yesterday Monday 26 Jan 2009- approx 3.30ish pm.. I had walked in and there wasn't anyone behind the counter nor in the kitchen. I called out a few times- and also heard some voices, so I am pretty sure they would have heard me. After waiting for about 5 min or so, a young lady came out and said hello- I replied with hello and asked her where my apology was (for being made to wait and call out a few times).. her reply was ' I was on the computer' ( so there wasn’t any apologies). I had ordered my food- and went to look for a table- around the side (facing Hungry Jack's) all the tables were filthy- there were chicken bones on seats and some other weird looking thing wedged in another seat. Another family had walked in as well and the lady told the young lady working at Red Rooster to clean the tables as they were disgusting. The young lady cleaned the tables quite briefly and did not clean up the floor nor the food that was on the chairs. I find this unacceptable, as the 2 employees that were there were obviously quiet and had the time to clean up the restaurant. I don’t think its up to the customers to tell them to clean or to call out to be served. Also, for the young lady's reply to me that she was on the computer is just plain rude (I am assuming she was on facebook as she was also talking to the other man working there about some couple breaking up!!)… Sorry to say, but this experience has made me not want to return to Red Rooster in Campbellfield. PS: The hot chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated. Not a pleasant experience at all.
