Redlands Public Hospital ( Queensland, Australia)

2007-06-24

I went to the emergency ward of the Redlands Hospital last Sunday night after cutting my right index finger at the base to the bone, I went and checked in with the administration who advised that a triage nurse would be with me shortly at this stage I was still bleeding heavily from the wound and had lost feeling in the finger, it took 45 mins and 2 trips to the admin officer for a nurse to see me and then 3 hours before a doctor stiched my wound up in which I asked many times if there was any nerve or tendon damage to which his reply was no, but low and behold when I had my stiches out this weekend at a clinic in the same area that yes I would need for a surgeon to look at the wound as in his opinion I did have tendon damage all I want to know is why when I asked this at a hospital was I not given a correct answer .
