We purchased a Wooden Dining table and 6 chairs from the Samarang Furniture Fortiture Valley store. The Sales lady told us the timber was the best quality teak, We put the table and chairs directly on our lovely light color carpet in the dining room, as you would with any other furniture. Just like other clients that experienced the same problem After two or three months we lifted the table off the carpet to have it cleaned, it had left four dark yellow permanent stains on the carpet I was furious and very annoyed i phoned the store to speak with the manager and explained the what happened, I was told the stain can´t be from the table if the table is made from teak, I was advised to discuss the matter with the owner and was told she would get in touch with me after confirming my personal details, We never received a phone call from anyone regarding our problem, we engaged an expert to inspect the furniture to find out the table and chairs was made from a very cheap wood with a stain looking like teak. I can´t believe they are getting away with it. My advise to anyone purchasing any items from this company make sure you have it all described and be sure you can return the goods if not the real timber. We got it treated properly but it was a very upsetting having to deal with this kind of dishonesty.

I have purchased a very large amount of furniture from Samarang Furniture LTD from their wholesale devision and distribute in Portugal, we have had so many problems that is almost impossible to describe, the wood started to split and buckle in all directions, the tropical RATAN is infested with white bugs, and have stained so many clients clothes and other items at their home. We have been in a legal dispute with the Owner Mrs Ellie ( The Lesbian ) whom is currently owing us well over A$450 000.00 and refuses to compensates us, the woman is very vindictive instead of solving and assisting our problems she decides to be even more evil and list you as a SCAMER has she did with me. Please before you buy anything from Samarang Furniture in Australia think again. That could become your worst nightmare. There is a lot of genuine and nice pieces of furniture out there look and compare before you part with your cash.

Dining table and chairs purchased, after 3 months two chairs have broken (cheap timber and poor workmanship) and the table has also stained our carpet like the other person on here has stated. Wish i had read their review then i wouldn't have had so much stress trying to deal with such a terrible company. No customer service skills at all, you leave the shop and they say good bye!! Warning, DO NOT BUY!!

After three months we then moved house. We lifted the table off the carpet it had left four bright yellow stains from each dining table leg!! As i confirmed with the store, the carpet was not wet before we put the table down, never got wet at any stage and all our other wooden furniture did not leave marks on the carpet, only the dining table that we bought from Samarang Furniture! I contacted the head office and sent photo's of the marks that it had caused as evidence. We were told to wait a week for the owner to return as they would have to raise the issue with the owner. Called the head office 3 times chasing the owner and then was told that the manager would speak to me now and not the owner. On my third call to then i was told the Manager was off work for two days. I asked to speak to the owner as they were only passing on the message to the manager of what was going to be done. Owner refused to discuss situation with me. During this time we moved into our new place and placed the dining onto several pieces of carpet to make sure it wouldn't ruin the carpeted floor in our new place. Surprise, surprise, it still stains the pieces of carpet that is now pretecting the carpeted floor. After two days ( two weeks in total from first call) i was advised that there was nothing they could do to fix the carpet, they wouldn't replace the legs or dining table. They said that there policy is that once an item was sold from their store "IT IS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY!!!" All up i had to wait two weeks to be told they wouldn't do anything, manager passed blame onto owner, owner refused to speak to me, store called me twice, I called them 6 times in total over two weeks chasing a resolution or information. And worst of all is that they sold a defective product but refuse to acknowledge this even though evidence was provided and the product continues to stain our carpet. I would not recommend buying from this store as they sell cheap furniture, have poor customer service, don't care about the customer once they leave the store and no refunds/ returns policy.
