I bought a lounge suite from Spectrum Furniture. Within 1 month the cushions had sagged to a rediculous level. Complaints fell on deaf ears until I took the matter to the NSW Office of Fair Trading. Spectrum opted to repair the lounge suite. It was returned two weeks later with so much stuffing in the cushions that it was hideous and hideously uncomfortable. Complaints were met with "well we can take some of the stuffing out, but that's what you wanted". I then contacted the NSW Consumer, Trade and Tennancy Tribunal. The Manager of Spectrum Furniture failed to attend either of two hearing dates. The CTTT found in my favour and Spectrum furniture were ordered to remove the lounge suite and give me a full refund. This process took 10 months! However, the Office of Fair Trading and the CTTT were both fantastic and helpful.
