I sent a package on 14 July 2009 and the delivery time frame was by 25 July 2009. The package had baby studio photos and stuff which cannot be replaced cuz I do not have the negatives. The guy picked it up on time but wasn't delivered. The courier express, they say, is trackable, but i found out it takes 28 days to get a reply when my parcel was not delivered by the due date. I mean.. it's not a lot cheaper than dhl yet, it's not even a courier express. I processed enquiry form online, well it hasn't been 28 days yet but no reply at all. Did anyone who experienced same thing got the $100 rebate when it doesn't arrive by timeframe or value of shippment declared on the form? if fair trading and other sorts aren't any luck, we all should try current affair tv show all together.
Shipped 4 boxes by air using this company from AUS to UK, and paid for insurance! $886.26 for 2-4 week delivery. It has now been months and still no boxes, have left that many messages for Phillip Abadee to call me, no response. Have also sent around 20 emails with no response, finally get hold of him and he spends 10 minutes asking me what the boxes look like! Probally because he needed to go find them in his warehouse because they never left (this happened to someone else when he was invesitgated by the CTTT - the boxes were found 8 months later just sitting in his warehouse). Did some research and as everyone knows Phillip Abadee has around 15 companies all pulling the same scam, and not delivering peoples goods. The external messaging service doesnt seem to work and he never returns your calls, or emails so I did a little more research and found an alterantive method and number to contact Phillip Abadee on and email addresses you get a reponse from (Old mobile numbers from OZEpost). If you would like them please send me an email (extremebiscuiter@hotmail.com)
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER OF PHILLIP ABADEE'S COMPANIES!

They are trying to move to Bristol were discountfreight also exists so beware it is run by Phillip Abadee also! Several Blogs exist with more complaints and people seeking legal action so search around. He will be stopped shortly!
We shipped 7 boxes of household and personal belongings along with a Plasma Tv from Sydney to Edinburgh UK using Discount Freight.
We have not seen any of our belongings yet bar two battered boxes which seem to have been delivered through AusPost. We have contacted Phil Abadee (phila@discountfreight.com.au, Phila@globalps.com.au, ) and told him about this (our things were to arrive on 1st July at the very latest as they were sent SeaMail).
He advised that a C3 form had to be completed and charged us another $18 on top of the $900 we had already paid for shipping. After him supposedly completing this form 2 of our boxes turned up. The rest is anyone's guess!
Please someone stop this guy from taking anyone else's money!!
Sent two suitcases from Sydney on 24th November 2008 to UK.
1. Cases did not arrive after the 5 month cut-off, called the company and left a message - No reply
2. Called again and left a message again with the answering service - No reply
3. Emailed the company - No reply
4. Kept calling until I finally spoke to a bloke called Andrew who informed me that the cases were sent by seamail to the UK, arrived at a port, then were sent back! He was unable to give me any specific details like reasons for the return, tracking numbers, port details, dates locations or anything else - for "security purposes". He apologised and said he'd send the cases by Airmail - which would be with us within 2 weeks.
5. 3 MONTHS PASS and finally my cases arrive on 14th July 2009 - nearly EIGHT MONTHS LATER
To add insult to injury my eBook reader was damaged in transit - despite being packed in the original box and well insulated from other items. I contacted the company to start an insurance claim but nothing has been forthcoming.
THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE. AVOID.
We sent two packages from Sydney to Germany mid of december. Paid also gold insurance for both, 29.95$ each to cover it up to 2000$, to provide us a tracking number, to ensure delivery in time frame (if not compensation with 100$). However, the tracking number never worked, packages not arrived yet (more than a month overdue), nearly no responses on enquiries, chat support, calls….
Telephone support informs that they are not authorized to give information, ‘phillip’ in the chat is very unfriendly, rare to reach and only give excuses like: ‘status in system shows delivered’, ‘waiting for follow ups’, ‘there is nothing we can do at the moment’.
Today I had Karyn in the chat. She told me some forms weren’t completed in the right way so it sits in UK in a depot. They try to fix up problem with paperwork and I have to wait 7-10 more days. Karyn: ‘Normally we charge to fix. i will arrange to have fixed at no cost to you.’
What a nice person and great service ;-)
According to some internet research I’m not the only one suffering this method of delaying tactics. Also I don’t want to waste more time in writing emails, chat and telephone as it seems there is not really an outcome. Is there an option to take effective action to get at least the belongings back? Do you have any recommendations what steps I should take next?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Similar to other people complaints about Doscountfreights service, shipped 4 boxes from Melbourne to Sarajevo beginning of February, still no delivery and can not get in touch with anybody from the company, no way of tracking my delivery even though paid for Gold Service and should be able to track my delivery on the net.
I sent six boxes by sea from Melbourne to Germany using Discount Freight in July 2008 and they still have not been delivered. I could track my boxes as far as Sydeny because that was done by TNT and there tracking number did actually work. The one by Discount Freight doesn't show anything. When the boxes did not arrive by the end of November 08, I contacted the salesman in Melbourne. He told me that he had got in contact with the office in Sydney about the enquiry and would keep me updated. A week later he informed me that it was necessary for me to fill in their online form in order to lodge an enquiry, which I did immediately and was informed that I would get updates within 28 days, which have passed since a long time and I have never got a the result. I paid Gold service hoping to be able to track my boxes, but the system does not have any information on my freight. There are no dates given, not even for 'item details received and processed'.
I tried to speak to the call-centre in Sydney on four occasions, but the people in the call-centre were unable to provide any information on the lost freight. The only time I got useful information was on the 22nd of December 08, when I was told that the boxes should have arrived six weeks ago and for some reason could not be delivered and their whereabouts were unknown. I am a bit confused about the fact that I have not been informed about a delivery attempt and that no information was left at the delivery address either. It is also strange that the freight could not be delivered because the adress is an office where someone is always around to receive mail and freight at all usual business hours. When I used the live chat in January and spoke to someone called Phillip (probably the owner), he promised me that I would get an update on the enquiry by the end of the week which unfortunately did not happen. Since than I have been trying to contact the company and get at least a refund for my loss. But not only do they not reply to my faxs but I also found that the link they have in their terms and conditions to make claims isn't working and I didn't get a claim form through their mentioned e-mail or fax number. I have lodged a complained with the NSW Office of Fair Traiding but in vain....the company only replyed after three weeks stating that my e-mail on the application form for the delivery was wrong. I told them that ages ago and I doupt that my six boxes are lost because of a wrong e-mail address. I have now been told to take legal action by the OFT. I will lodge a application to the CTTT (Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal) tomorrow.
I know from a forum on the lonely planet web side that there are quite a few people having the same problem and will take legal actions soon. Unfortunately the forum has been closed today...I do not know why but I could imagine it may be the owner of the freight company Philip Abadeen who had a word in it as he didn't like people grouping up against him.
IF YOU NEED TO SEND AND FREIGHT DO NOT USE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES:
OZEPOST, EASY SHIPPING, DISCOUNT FREIGHT, GLOBAL POSTAL SOLUTION, CHECK IN BAGGAGE, BUDGET FREIGHT, OZDISCOUNT
They are all owned by the same person!
If you have already been scammed TAKE ACTION, don't let him have the last word!!
I have now also send a complained to the ACCC http://www.accc.gov.au/. Hope this helps.
If you want to get in contact whith other people who have experienced the same thing see: http://discountfreight.wordpress.com/about/
or http://discountedfreight.blogspot.com/
Phil Abadee from Discount Freight should NOT be trusted. I paid him $500 to ship 5 boxes from Aus to England as my fiance and I moved there. I was told it would take 9-12 weeks. 4 of the boxes were shipped mid Sept last year and the 5th box was shipped in mid Oct 2008. I have made countless calls to Phil, who's company is very hard to reach. Most of the time it goes through to an outsourced messaging service. When you do get through to Phil, it is nothing but lies, lies, lies. I've been told that my things were 'undeliverable' in Mid Dec (by one of 3 named companies, he couldn't decide which) - meaning that a freight company supposedly tried to deliver them. I was home as was my partner, throughout Dec as we didn't have work. Not only that, but if a company attempts delivery, they leave a calling card. It simply didn't happen. Weeks went past with unanswered emails and phone calls. When I finally got onto Phil, he said that he had only received ONE message (and he didn't even respond to that!). He has stated that my things were undeliverable and sent to a depot in Kent, U.K. which is about a 7 hour drive from where I now live. Why would someone take it to the fartherest depot from my house and not the local one? After a few more weeks, I got through to one of his staff, Jaimie, who informed me in Feb 09 that my boxes were being cleared through customs and on their way within a week. This didn't happen. Since then I have sent numerous emails and called a ridiculous amount of times. Phil keeps telling me that there is a 'process' to follow and that he can't tell me what company has my things in a Kent Depot. A few weeks ago he also tried to tell me that he had located 4 of the 5 boxes and that they would arrive in under a week. This never happened. So now we are back to the same old 'there's a process that needs to be followed. I can't give you a tracking number, nor the name of the depot where your things were taken after they were undeliverable'. I just can't believe it. All of mine and my fiance's things were in those boxes and I have no way of finding them - because, guess what? Phil is the owner of Discountfreight/ Globalps/ Ozepost, whatever the hell his company likes to call itself. Buyer beware!!! There is definately a scam going on here! And I should add that I found Phil Abadee on a blog stating that he and his family want to move to Bristol, England, for a year and want a pom to swap houses with them. Clearly he's more interested in making as much money as he can to move to England. I only hope that his belongings get lost in transit..... If anyone has had an experience with him and has managed to get their things back, please contact me!

DO NOT USE PHILLIP ABADEE OR ANY OF HIS COMPANIES!!!!! discountfreight.com.au, globalps, ozepost to name a few
I wanted to ship 4 large boxes to the UK from Australia. Phillip Abadee seemed very genial and organised on the phone when I initially spoke to him and I paid him up front which seemed a bit odd. My boxes were ready and I took the afternoon off work to wait for them to be collected between 2 and 6 pm. Noone had turned up by 5.00pm so I called the courier company globalps, it was already the after hours answer service who could give me no information except to say he could page the driver to call me, noone called, i called again, noone called all evening. In the morning on my way to work I received a call saying they would come and pick them up before 11.00 which was useless as I had to go to work. By this time i had come across this website and decided rather than lose my belongings I would abort the service and get my money back. when i had said this the phone was passed to Philip who said i could have a tracking service and an out of hours service for free. As far as i was concerned I had already paid for a tracking service. He claimed the courier had turned up and that backpackers were a bit unreliable. I am not a backpacker and if they had turned up surely they would call to see where you are. He said that i was lying and that he had dealt with globalps for 6 years and was adament they had turned up. Upon further research i found out he is the director of globalps. he would not accept responsibilty for anything and even said his double charging my credit card was the fault of the system. It took over 2 weeks to recieve the double charge refund and over a month after the incident I am losing hope of ever seeing the money i paid for the service i didn't receive. Be warned!! Don't use Phillip Abadee
Yes, please, please warn anybody contemplating using discountfreight.com.au or any of its other registered companies...they are shoddy to say the least.
Once you give them your money for the shipping and your goods, you will never see either your goods or the insurance $$$ again.
They picked 4 suitcases on 25 August 08 to be sent to Lebanon. After 3 unanswered emails I was finally able to speak to Phillip Abadee, who is the Sole Director and Secretary of the company. First he said that the shipment was held up in Customs and the client was told that and they had to go and get it cleared. We spoke to the client and no such advice was received.
Next time I spoke with Phillip Abadee he told me it must be TNT's (the carrier) fault.
Spoke to TNT and they didn't carry the goods. At least they had efficient records and could tell every parcel they took to Lebanon for the month of August, September and October. So Phillip Abadee lied.
After waiting a while, I then contacted them again by telephone. This time the person who answered said that they were only an answering service. Would relay the message...yeah sure!
No responses to email, no responses to telephone calls and no hope that the $2000. that we paid them would every be returned. The cost of the personal effects in the luggage is also gone. WARN EVERYONE NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY!
contacted Discountfreight.com.au to have them ship a parcel to Italy for me that I could not carry due to ariline wieght restrictions.
It was to be an Internatinal Express Courier, arriving within 4 - 9 days.
Firstly the box which I was provided with by the company arrived, but it was not until I had finished packing it that I realized there was no paperwork with it.
After some uncertain instructions from an employee, first by e-mail, then by phone, I managed to get what I was told was all the neccessary paperwork to fill out.
I was told that it could only be insured for a maximum of $200AU - so I declined this option after explaining that the package contained equipment and other personal effects that amount to much much more, and a $200 payout would have done nothing to replace it in case of loss. I later found out that it was possible to insure for any value, at an extra cost.
The package was picked as organized.
After about 2 weeks I e-mailed them asking for information. I was told I would need to give them the tracking number of the package. They had never given ME the tracking number. Eventually they identified the shippment and another week passed during which I wrote about 10 emails, getting no reply.
I later found out that this package had been sent, arrived in London, then gone back to Australia. At this point customs inspected it and found that it contained items that should have been declared on the paperwork that I did not recieve from Discountfreight. Inside the package they had found; a cigarette lighter, glue and batteries. Not having the paperwork at the time of packing, I was not able to accurately remeber all of the contents, and as it happened these items which I had not thought twice about throwing in, had caused a problem.
Phillip Abadee, the manager of the company informed me that for $300 he could have the items removed and the package sent on.
He accepted partial responsability and offered to split the cost.
I was then given a tracking number for the parcel which had now been sent Australia Post, but I was soon informed that for some reason it had been returned to the sender (Discountfreight). I was never told why this occured.
At this stage after many emails, a lot of drama, and Phillip making false, accusatory, misleading statements to others I had involved in the matter of trying to get information, I contacted a solicitor.
I told Phillip that I did not want the parcel to be sent again untill I had been given the opportunity to insure it, and was given a time frame for it's arrival.
For the next weeks Phillip refused to give out any more information, and I learned from my mother, who I had asked to keep calling the company during business hours (I am in Italy so it's hard to find time, at the right time of day) that my package had been sent again, regardless of my wishes.
Phillip refused to give any reason for why he did this other than that "insurance is never availiable for prohibited items" - which I had supposedly paid to have removed and the package had been sent, unsuccessfully twice since. He would use a series of false allegations to mislead my mother when she would call asking for information like tracking number, status etc - all services that the company garantees on their website and terms & conditions.
Seven weeks have now passed, Phillip of Discountfreight refuses to respond to my emails, I have written a formal complaint and I still do not know, despite having asked for a yes or no answer whether I will ever recieve my package. It appears that it has been sent, unsuccessfully 3 times in the last 7 weeks.
I paid $550 for the International Express Courier service that I did not get, and have spent a huge number of hours on emails and phone calls. I have not recieved the parcel either.
