Hello on Saturday January 28th 2012 my sister and I (who are black)went to the nearby Harvey's restaurant because we had a coupon .So as it got to be our turn the guy behind the counter started immediately making snide remarks .First he smirked as I went to pay for the meal with my debit card he pointed out that I had an "old card" because it did not have the chip on it.
Secondly he asked us if we were going to eat inside the restaurant or out I said I would be eating in the restaurant .He said it's to go,I repeated myself and said we were eating in ,he then said he said "It's to go".I repeated myself once more and told him we were going to eat in the reataurant. He replied "You can drink the sodas here and eat the burgers at home."(mind you the restaurant was empty and it was nowhere near closing time).My mouth dropped I could not believe it.After that we observed closely how he greeted and served the next patrons in line ,(who just happened to be white)it was a huge constrast he was cordial and kind to them.I believe this was racially motivated the way that Harvey's worker treated my sister and I and I intend to seek compensation for the disrespect and humiliation we faced.
