Nothing but trouble from toy world, they damaged my $3000 bike, tried to hide the fact , I caught them out, then tried to do a repair specifically against the manufacturors warning. I was lied to several times by staff and manager, then they told me the piece they destroyed they wernt qualified to fix, they worked on it and deliberately damaged it in the first place. 22phone calls and a 2month wait for an adequate fix. These people are no better than than you or me, there is no quality control, nor education on what they sell and they have no idea what they are talking about, stay well clear....
rude customer service and bad attitude don't 't buy from toy world and you will get treated like crap. Telling me the r/c i bought was rubbish when they sell all the electric components in store. The response i got was all the electrics are crap .Well why do they sell them .Never buy from toy world they are a total rip off way over priced you can get the equivalent online way cheaper.
we purchased a trike for our 4 year old sons birthday in April 2011 from the Ipswich Riverlink Toyworld store, the cost approximately $150.00. Had they advertised the fact that there was no possibility to purchase spare tyres or tubes we would not of bought it. I went in there today to try and purchase a new tyre and tube as my son had worn it out, I was told by the store manager that the item was a one off import and they do not have spares. She suggested going to Bunnings hardware to find one, well prior to the visit I had already been to Bunnings, a couple of bike shops and a motorbike shop all to no avail. After I explained this to her she gave me the head office phone number, I called and spoke to the "manager" his words when I said the tyre had worn out were "jesus christ" and that it was the store managers responsibility to call the buyer. I went back in a spoke to the store manager who said "what the hell, does he expect me to call China".
I then phoned back the head office to try and voice my concerns with the General Manager, I was informed that there was not one. I did some research from the Office of Fair Trading and found that the Law states that an item which is sold must have spare parts available for a reasonable time after the sale.
I called back the head office manager and tried to discuss the poor customer service and point out the info I had found from the office of fair trading, only to be told I was harrassing him and that it's no different to buying a car and no spare parts being readily available. ????
In the store managers defence she did state she would try and find a tyre from one that had been returned, however why should I get a second hand tyre and tube.
My advice to all is to avoid Toyworld at all costs unless you want to be ripped off.
I purchased a handy manny tool box today which i thought was $16.99 the next day i thought i better check my receipt i was charged 59.99, when i rang she told me i picked up the wrong one, i said one of your workers was helping me get stuff from the catalogue, why did she not tell me it was the wrong one, not impressed at all. Her response was i can come have a look at the shelf which i'm sure they will change by the time i got back there...
2 days before christmas 08, i went shopping for a kids camera i had seen advertised in in the toy world cataloge. when we got there they had sold out of the pink cameras. even though they were very busy the lady that served me was very helpful and rang around some other stores to see if they had what i was looking for. but she had no luck, which i understood. i choose to spend an extra $60 to get anther pink camera. also while we were shopping we bought some other gifts and all up spent a total of $565 in the store. not to mention what i had already spent in that same store in the previous weeks before christmas. christmas morning my children open there presents but when we put batteries in the camera it wouldnt turn on. i explained to my daughter that this is a very special camera and maybe it needed rechargale batteries. so boxing day we went and bought some, but still it didnt work. so i rang the ipswich store from where i purchused the camera to see if i could exchange it for the very same one. this was not going to be a problem, but unfortunatly in the mad rush of christmas i had misplaced my receipt. the ladies at the store gave me head office in brisbanes number and told me they could'nt help me but head office would sort it out for me. i rang head office and the lady i spoke to who refused to give me her name, was far from helpful. first when i mentioned that it was christmas and that it was a 5 yr olds present who by this stage is standind beside crying uncontrolable. she hung up on me. i rang straight back and asked for her name this is when she refused to give it to me. she then put the phone down and left me on a open line i stayed on that line forover a hour when i finally gave up. christmas is for the kids, toy world is ment to be for the kids. this was the second christmas in a row that 1 of my kids have woken up to a toy that doesnt work that was purchused from toy world. i refused to even walk into a toyworld shop ever again and i tell everyone i can how much toy world ruined my daughters christmas.i still have her broken camera that cost $120 sitting in the box in the cupboard. thanks toy world we want be forgetting this christmas in a hurry. and to the older lady from head office(you know how you are) i hope you never see another christmas.
